When advanced technology era has come, life becomes simpler than before. Something that we didn’t think about it, but come true. Telephone which could made us nearer although in different area, car could move us to the place we want , aircraft to carry businessman and government in summit faster, oil and gas technology to generate electricity, and many more. Early, all of technology products just become dreams.

Design product as one of the industry that growth faster and faster have a big challenge to make product more competitive. Not only in performance and function to easier people life, but it has to have environmental criteria. To get the objective design of the product, it has to conduct various research to proven that products will not endanger to our lifes. People have a boundary. For example, we couldn’t hear noise like a sonic boom when aircraft fly, instablity car will make us uncomfort when drive in highway. It has to adapt to the future condition such as energy that will used up.

There are not only one way to make a product easier and cheaper. Earlier, if we wanna make some product that have correlation with fluid such as automobile, aircraft, pressure vessel, building, tunnel, piping where have high consideration in pressure and temperature. It has to establish the experiment. Make a model and test it first in wind tunnel, after that it will be accurate if the data that we got completed the experiment with analitical process. It needs high cost. Unfortunately, product that you have tested fail, you have to repeat as many as you could untill succeed.

Nowdays, advanced technology era has become to make it simpler. Advanced high-speed digital computer and algoritm coding has develop to solve physical phenomenon appear around us. Supercomputer combined with the development of accurate numerical algoritms could solve all physical problems we found. Superpositions of these, not only to make us easy but to understand what Allah swt create also. Now, in millenium era these technology become famous tools, we called Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

So what is Computational Fluid Dynamics? Computational Fluid Dynamics is a computer-based tool for simulating the behavior of systems involving fluid flow, heat transfer, and other related physical processes. It works by solving the equations of fluid flow (in a special form) over a region of interest, with specified (known) conditions on the boundary of that region.

CFD reduce design time scales and improve processes throughout the engineering world. CFD provides a cost-effective and accurate alternative to scale model testing, with variations on the simulation being performed quickly, offering obvious advantages. CFD used in many applications of industry, it is not only research tools but design tools also used in industrial.

  • Process industry: Mixing vessels, chemical reactors
  • Building services: Ventilation of buildings, such as atriums
  • Health and safety: Investigating the effects of fire and smoke
  • Motor industry: Combustion modeling, car aerodynamics
  • Electronics: Heat transfer within and around circuit boards
  • Environmental: Dispersion of pollutants in air or water
  • Power and energy: Optimization of combustion processes
  • Medical: Blood flow through grafted blood vessels

Now, don’t say that we not believed that Allah swt exist. There is one of simpler way to understand what Allah swt made and how to belief. See the colorfull of the worlf by CFD. You could see how desert flow characteristic and many others physical phenomena.

    I’m a M.S. (food technology) student.
    I have recently started using ansys (v 12).
    As u must be knowing, CFD has a gr8 role in food industries, and can gr8ly optimise and improve processes, I have opted to work in this field.
